Disco Biscuit & Good News!

Hello ladies! This has been an exciting week, the boyfriend and I just signed a lease for a house, we will be moving in August, yeaaaah! There is so much room for me to paint my nails.

I wanted to pick a color that reflected how I felt...so I decided on Butter London's Disco Biscuit. It's a hot pink with purple micro-glitter, it's gorgeous and one of my favorite Butter London colors.

I have 4 coats over Palladio Nail Strengthener and Seche Vite on top.

Oooh sparkly!
This makes me want to do the Judd Nelson fist in the air at the end of Breakfast Club. That good. See you next time my lovely, polished ladies!

Holy Shimmer, Batman!

Holy balls!!! I haven't felt this way about a nail polish since Deborah Lippmann's Mermaid's Dream.

Probably the best part about this is that I got this polish for 1 penny on Copious. It's like Pinterest + Etsy. I got invited and received a $10 credit just for signing up, which translated to basically a free nail polish! If you click on the this link and sign up, you will also get the $10 credit and when you make your first purchase, I get $5. Sweet.

This is Zoya's Apple. It's a shimmer but I feel like calling it a shimmer is robbery. I want to call it a holographic nail polish...but I know it isn't. It's SO pretty, I can't stop looking at it. It was so easy to apply as well. I have 2 coats of Apple over Palladio Nail Strengthener and a top coat of Seche Vite. Whoa baby, does it shine!
Bling!

Blam!

I hope I don't get into an accident tomorrow from being distracted by this polish. If you don't hear from me in a few days, alert someone haha. See you next time my lovely, polished ladies!

It's 100 Degrees And So Is This Mani

Hello! I just did probably one of my most flashy manicures ever. I feel silly, and fabulous. This took awhile because I made a deal with myself, for every phase of polishing I did, I would get a section of homework done. Talk about motivation.

I gave Deborah Lippmann's It Girl another shot. This time I layered it over OPI's Alpine Snow to make the color pop, and I must say I approve.

I have a nail polish peel waiting to happen. I've got a coat of Palladio Nail Strengthener on, then 2 coats of OPI's Apline Snow, 3 coats of Deborah Lippmann's It Girl (from the Who Run The World (Girls) collection) and then on my ring and thumbs I have 2 coats of Deborah Lippmann's Happy Birthday allll under a coat of Seche Vite. Whew.

I got my inspiration from Nailed It. I loved the neon yellow with the pop of glitter and wanted to try my own little version. Now if only I could be at the pool instead of doing homework... See you later my lovely, polished ladies!

Touch O' Glitter

Helloooo! I did a mani today that made me feel like a princess...maybe based off of the polish names alone.

I used Essie's Flawless and Deborah Lippmann's Some Enchanted Evening. So I kinda of feel like royalty (ok nerd).

I have a coat of CND Stickey and 3 coats of Essie's Flawless. Then I patted 2 coats of Some Enchanted Evening on my tips and sealed it up with some Seche Vite. This mani makes me feel super girly, it's kind of nice! Also, I got this Deborah Lippmann for free with a purchase, so that makes the deal even sweeter!

My camera lacks subtly...it's actually pretty shimmery.
That's my fancy polish of the day, hope you enjoyed! I'm waiting patiently for some nail polish in the mail so I can further ignore polishes I haven't worn yet. I should make a week where I only wear polishes I haven't used yet. That's a god plan. See you next time, my lovely, polished ladies.

Tart Deco Tips

Hello! So...I have always wanted to do this mani...I'm not good at things.

I painted 1 coat of CND Stickey and 2 coats of OPI's So Many Clowns...So Little Time (this formula SUCKS, it's never really dry, nicked it like 8 times, annoying). Then I had 2 bloody marys and that's where my manicure takes a turn for the worst. After said bloody marys, I tried to free-hand my tips with Essie's Tart Deco. And...well, here are the results. Not my finest hour but I like the idea. You get the idea.

Overall, not bad for my first free-hand tips.
Maybe next time I will try it without a buzz. See you next time, my lovely, polished ladies!

Julep Maven Box Arrived!

Hey ladies! So I somehow ended up following Julep on Twitter and they tweeted that they were giving away things for 1 penny, how can I refuse? Turns out they are similar to Birchbox, Glam Bag, etc...except with NAIL POLISH! So I was stoked to sign up for a penny. The boxes after that are $19.99, I don't know if I will keep my subscription going monthly but I will probably grab a box here and there. This is my referral link if you feel like checking it out. I got a penny box with the code: TWITTER1 HTTP://JULEP.COM/?R=21827352

I got some sweet stuff in my box. Toe separators (because I love doing my toes...sarcasm), pedicure creme and 2 nail polishes.

From left to right: Susie, Niecy, Pedi Creme, Toe Separators.
I was excited for Susie which is a really subtle robin's egg blue. It applies how you would think, streaky and chalky. Very hard to work with, as all of those types of polishes are. It is so subtly blue you have to do a double take. I put 2 coats over a coat of CND Stickey, then I did an accent nail with Essie's Luxe Effects Set In Stones and put some Seche Vite over it all. I'm a big fan of this manicure. I love these stark mani's with a pretty, glittery, feminine touch.

Squint a bit and you can see that it's very subtly blue, or don't. I love accent fingers, squeeee.

I know I said I would do more Zoya swatches from the Beach collection but I can't resist newER things, maybe next time! See  you soon my lovely, polishes ladies.

Zoya Pinterest Trio

Hey dudes. Busy week, man. Nails are a mess. I got some time tonight to do my nails, luckily my FREE Zoya Pinterest Trio came in the mail today.

If you were one of the first 2,000 people to redeem the trio...you received these 3 polishes from the Zoya Beach Collection: Myrta, Zuza, and Kimber. So shimmery and bright, perfect for summer (obviously, it has "beach" in the name, blog lady).

I just swatched Myrta tonight, since it matches my dress for tomorrow! I have 2 coats on over some CND Stickey and topped with Seche Vite. It's tangerine-y with a lot of shimmer, it reminds me of Zoya Calypso except a liiiiitttllee darker. Zoya polishes are always so awesome to apply, never runny and the brush gives you so much control.
Very pretty and shimmery. Excuse the cutes, they're kinda of sad.
I thought it would look nice with this pattern on my dress!
I will probably swatch the other two I got later this week, but for reference, I got this mini trio FOR FREE!

From left to right: Zuza, Myrta, Kimber
Hopefully my homework/house hunting allows me to get some nail painting in this week! See you soon my lovely, polished ladies!

Nail Polish Rack Finally Came!!!

Sqqquueeeaaalll!!! My nail polish rack came in the mail today and I am just tickled pink! Now I can see ALL the polishes!
There is one more row but it's empty, don't quite have 96 polishes to fill it.
So then I was trying to decide which color to paint...and I was stuck. I am going somewhere soon here and I didn't want to get really involved, I wanted something simple and easy. So I picked Essie's Demure Vixen. It's a really pretty shimmery pale lavender color. It almost looks beige in certain lights. My nail polish sandwich was 1 coat CND Stickey, 3 coats Demure Vixen, 1 coat Seche Vite. Voila!

Pretttttty.
Just dropping by to show off my new nail polish organization, which I am super excited about and eager to fill up! Thanks for stopping by, my lovely polishes ladies.

Off Day and A Classic Red With A Twist

I am having an off polish day. I tried 3 or 4 manicures before I decided to just go classic. And even my classic mani didn't happen without error.

I was inspired by Glazed And Confused to break out Zoya's Sooki again, which is a delicious creamy red. I had mentioned to her that I would love to see a really pretty shimmer over it, something like OPI's I Juggle...Men.

So I started my trip to manicure town. Got my CND Stickey on. 2 coats of Sooki in, and I decide that my head itches. Rookie mistake, blog lady.
GAH!
Minor set back. I finish off with 2 coats of I Juggle...Men and start to put on my Seche Vite when I realize it needs some Seche Restore...but I continue anyways. What a stringy mess. Anyways, the manicure came out ok...it was a task trying to get all of those pretty micro glitters in I Juggle...Men to show up on camera and you might need to enlarge these, but I think I got some in there.

You can see some sparkles in here, but mostly this picture is for the Zoya Sooki, such a gorgeous red.

This is for showing off the super pretty micro glitters.

All in all, I'm pretty happy with this manicure. It's pretty classic and after last times "Dexter Manicure", I needed a clean slate. See you next time, my lovely polished ladies!

Who Run The World (Girls)

Oh, hello blog reader! (Love you.)

I just received the Who Run The World (Girls) set by Deborah Lippmann (I know, you're thinking "it's a bit late for swatches of this blog lady", but I was excited). I always wait to buy new things because I try to convince myself I don't need them, then I buy them anyways. Pointless.

Anyways, this set contains 5 polishes: I Kissed A Girl, It Girl, Hollaback Girl, Nasty Girl, and Party Girl. They're neon, demi-matte polishes that were difficult to maneuver. I have 3 coats on each nail and am still not sold. The polishes themselves are very sheer (especially the yellow, which looks like pee). It might be the demi-matte finish that robs the polish of its potential. I put it over CND Stickey but I don't mind if it chips...

Overall, I love I Kissed A Girl and Party Girl. I strongly dislike It Girl, as far as yellows go, this one is one of the ugliest I have ever seen. I wanted more of a bright, highlighter yellow than a dingy one.
My ring finger looks janky, my bad.
Left to Right: I Kissed A Girl, It Girl, Hollaback Girl, Nasty Girl, Party Girl

Also, now I will never be able to get the Beyonce song out of my head. Mediocre manicure, AWFUL song. See you back soon, my lovely polished ladies!

EDIT: This is now the Dexter hand manicure.

First Post and Vampy, Glittery Goodness

This is the first post of my blog! It's exciting and also a bit intimidating. So hello (if anyone may happen to read my blog, ever. If you are reading it - YOU ARE AWESOME!)

For my first trick, I present my favorite manicure to date. It is Essie's Devil's Advocate with Essie's A Cut Above Luxe Effects on the ring fingers. If you are also interested, I use CND Sticky as a base coat and Seche Vite for my top coat.  Ohhhh Seche Vite, you're so original blog Lady. I know, but it's seriously awesome.

Essie's Devil's Advocate paints beautifully (I know some people have problems with Essie, but this formula is rad). I used 2 coats for this mani. It's vampy goodness and the Luxe Effects just adds a pop of fun to which would otherwise be a pretty serious mani.

I am not a photographer, nor do I have the best camera. I have also included, for your enjoyment, a video of my awkward pinky. Yes, ladies, my pinky is crooked and I feel silly trying to get it to line up.

This is one of those "maybe it's black, maybe it's purple" colors.
Ok, so Tyra needs to teach me "pretty hands".
And the pièce de résistance, my awkward pinky.

There we go, my first blog post. Whew, that sure was a hoot. Please visit again, my lovely polished ladies!
