Julep Popova

Hello! I have part 2 of my Julep box today! Popova is a unique green crème, that I had a difficult time painting. Maybe it was because I had 2 coats of nail strengthener on underneath because my nails are in need of some TLC. It's a paler green but not quite mint, Julep calls it "kelly green" but I beg to differ. I do like the color; however, my mom said it was ugly. You win some, you lose some.

If you aren't familiar with Julep Maven, it's a subscription service that gives you nail polish! I got my first box for just 1 cent. If you want to keep receiving boxes (you can always cancel), they are $19.99 and well worth the price. Here is a link where you can grab your intro box for 1 cent, just remember the code TWITTER1 HTTP://JULEP.COM/?R=21827352

I have 2 coats of Julep Popova over 2 coats of Palladio Nail Strengthener, topped with a coat of Seche Vite. Excuse my painting, it's crude and thick.

Apparently my computer doesn't want to align my pictures, COOL.

Overall, I enjoys this color! See you next time, my lovely polished ladies!

Another Blue? Yes!

Hey ladies. I just realized that I have been doing a lot of blue polishes lately...I am not sure why, seeing as I don't particularly like blue. Well...I like this one!

This polish came in my September Julep Maven Box. If you aren't familiar with Julep, it's a subscription service that gives you nail polish! I got my first box for just 1 cent, not even kidding. If you want to keep receiving boxes (you can always cancel), they are $19.99 and well worth the price. Here is a link where you can grab your intro box for 1 cent, just remember the code TWITTER1 HTTP://JULEP.COM/?R=21827352

I got 2 polishes and a mascara this month! I am a sucker for mascara so I was really excited. The first polish from my box that I am going to show you guys is Julep Gunta. It is a really pretty royal blue crème. This one glided on like butter and covered nicely. It's a wee darker in person than in the pictures I think, which is very frustrating. I am a fan! I think I want to get some gold accents in here somewhere, to make it a truly royal manicure! I have 2 coats on here with a coat of Seche Vite on top.

She is so shiny!

This is more true to the color, I think.

I will have the other polish I got in my box up later in the week! So many fun things coming up, can't wait to show you guys my new polish and new polish station! See you next time my lovely, polished ladies!

Julep Takes A Stab At Metallics

Hey hey. I got my Julep box almost 2 weeks ago..and am just now blogging about it. But I am all moved into the new place and this is my first (kind of long) blog from my new couch in my new house! Woo!

If you aren't familiar with Julep, it's a subscription service that gives you nail polish! I got my first box for just 1 cent! If you want to keep receiving boxes, they are $19.99 and well worth the price. Here is a link where you can grab your intro box for 1 cent, just remember the code TWITTER1 HTTP://JULEP.COM/?R=21827352

This months Julep box contained the polishes Alfre and Felicity, I don't have many metallic polishes so I was excited about these! I also received their Acetone-Free conditioning nail polish remover (with pump!), which smells pretty good and work marvelously. Then I got an extra, a reusable tote bag (which was handy carrying my farmers market spoils Saturday)!

Felicity is a yellow-gold metallic chrome color. The formula on this was a bit goopy so I dropped some Seche Restore in, and viola! Like most metallic polishes, you can definitely see the polish strokes, which is a bummer. This is still a fun polish, I would probably use it more for art or accents. This is 2 coats with Seche Vite on top

Julep Felicity

Alfre is a silver/lavender metallic that was very difficult to work with. The brush strokes were hard to get rid of and the formula was a bit off. It bubbled on me, which is very unusual but I could chalk it up to something I did in the painting process. This is 2 coats with Seche Vite on top.

The goodies in my Julep Maven box!

Whew! Overall I am pretty pleased with the metallics in my box. I LOVE THE REMOVER!!! I will be buying the remover again, also it has a pump top, I love those. I have some fun polishes coming up so stay tuned! See you next time my lovely, polished ladies!

Glitter, Glitter Everywhere

Hello there! I am clearly avoiding homework, and what better to avoid homework than to paint my nails. Today, I went with another fabulous glitter I received in my Julep Maven box!

If you aren't familiar with Julep Maven, it's a subscription box for nail polish and you can get your first box for just 1 penny! This is my referral link if you feel like checking it out. You can get a penny box with the code: TWITTER1 HTTP://JULEP.COM/?R=21827352

I have on 3 coats of OPI's Care To Danse? and only 1 coat of Julep's Yumi. Yes, 1 coat. This glitter is super opaque. So far all of the glitters I have received from Julep have been jam packed with glitter, I LOVE IT!

Glitter bomb!
I feel oh-so-sparkly. I'm loving Julep glitters, I will probably have to drop by the Julep website and see what other glitters they have! Until next time, my lovely, polished ladies!

Let Freedom Ring!

Hello! I caved and did a 4th of July manicure. Mostly because I got a nail polish called "America" in this months Julep Maven box.

If you aren't familiar with Julep Maven, it's a subscription box for nail polish and you can get your first box for just 1 penny! This is my referral link if you feel like checking it out. You can get a penny box with the code: TWITTER1 HTTP://JULEP.COM/?R=21827352

On to Julep's America! This was a perfect and timely addition to the July box. I did not expect this glitter to be so opaque, but there is a ton of glitter in here, you guys! I have on 2 coats of Essie's Aruba Blue and just 1 coat of Julep's America. Holy glitter!!! There are also some star shaped pieces of glitter in here, which is adorable.

Uhhh clean-up was awful with Essie. My fingers are blue.

Bling, Happy Independence, America.
I'm not a big themed manicure fan, but this glitter polish is phenom. I'm talking in abbrevs now. Obvi. Well, everyone have a safe, fun holiday and I will see you soon, my lovely, polished ladies!

Julep Lynn Swatch

Happy Sunday! I got my Julep box last night! Before I used the star of my Julep box, I wanted to swatch one of the other polishes I received in my box.

If you aren't familiar with Julep, it's a subscription service that gives you nail polish! I got my first box for just 1 cent! If you want to keep receiving boxes, they are $19.99 and well worth the price. I got 3 nail polishes and a lip gloss in July's box. Here is a link where you can grab your intro box for 1 cent, just remember the code TWITTER1 HTTP://JULEP.COM/?R=21827352

Now onto the polish. This is Julep's Lynn, which is a pearly peach. I wasn't a fan of this when I first put it on but the more I look at it, the more I like it. I'm normally not a pearl finish fan but this is a beautiful, classic color. I did an accent nail with OPI's Pirouette My Whistle, because why not. Then I topped it with Seche Vite.
Gorgeous and peachy!
I wanted to show the pearly finish on this before I added a top coat.

There you have it! I will, in fact, do a 4th of July mani from a gorrrgeous polish I got in this box, regardless of how hokey I think themed manicures are. I will see you before the 4th my lovely, polished ladies!

Julep Maven Box Arrived!

Hey ladies! So I somehow ended up following Julep on Twitter and they tweeted that they were giving away things for 1 penny, how can I refuse? Turns out they are similar to Birchbox, Glam Bag, etc...except with NAIL POLISH! So I was stoked to sign up for a penny. The boxes after that are $19.99, I don't know if I will keep my subscription going monthly but I will probably grab a box here and there. This is my referral link if you feel like checking it out. I got a penny box with the code: TWITTER1 HTTP://JULEP.COM/?R=21827352

I got some sweet stuff in my box. Toe separators (because I love doing my toes...sarcasm), pedicure creme and 2 nail polishes.

From left to right: Susie, Niecy, Pedi Creme, Toe Separators.
I was excited for Susie which is a really subtle robin's egg blue. It applies how you would think, streaky and chalky. Very hard to work with, as all of those types of polishes are. It is so subtly blue you have to do a double take. I put 2 coats over a coat of CND Stickey, then I did an accent nail with Essie's Luxe Effects Set In Stones and put some Seche Vite over it all. I'm a big fan of this manicure. I love these stark mani's with a pretty, glittery, feminine touch.

Squint a bit and you can see that it's very subtly blue, or don't. I love accent fingers, squeeee.

I know I said I would do more Zoya swatches from the Beach collection but I can't resist newER things, maybe next time! See  you soon my lovely, polishes ladies.
