OPI Fly

Hello! I am getting back into the swing of painting my nails after moving, which I assume will get better once I get a chair for my little polish nook I have set up! I will get some pictures for you guys because I know how interesting it is seeing other peoples' polish set ups...

Anyways. When the Nicki Minaj OPI collection came out, I put my love of polish aside and firmly planted myself on the "not gonna buy it" position, due to the fact that I can't stand her. Well I think it's been long enough that I can buy one, so I picked Fly. It's a really pretty, creamy teal. It was even boyfriend approved!

I have two coats of OPI Fly and a coat of Seche Vite. I am not sure the camera picks up  how cool this really is, it's actually a little darker to me in person. Anyways, I'm a fan. I just put Floam over it though...maybe you can have pictures of that later.
My nails are in the process of growing back, they feel funny.

On my new back patio, wooo.

All in all, I am a fan. And I am even more of a fan with Floam over the top...I think I will have to take pictures tomorrow and post them for you guys, because let's face it, Floam is awesome. See you next time my lovely, polished ladies!

Unfor-Greta-Bly Blue? Forgetable.

Good day! I have another OPI Germany swatch today...I decided because I can't just show good polishes all the time, I need to get some in there that I really didn't enjoy.

Maybe it's blue. Maybe I am prejudiced against blue. Either way, I am not a giant fan of OPI Unfor-Greta-Bly Blue. Might be the name, too. I always feel like I have to be super careful with blues, because clean up is a bitch. I use acetone to clean my cuticles up and even then I ended up with a blue tint to my fingers, sad day.

Anyways, same old story. 2 coats of OPI and then a coat of Seche Vite. And here we are. A tremendously mediocre manicure. But hey, if blue is your thing, the formula is good. Much like any other OPI but held back by the mini brush that I had.

Blue cuticles, you slay me!
She's-a fine, just not my cup of tea!

And that is the story about how I am biased against the color blue. See you next time my lovely polished ladies!

New Favorite Nude

Hello all! You can't tell from my blog but...I am a sucker for soft, neutral polishes. I am actually pretty sure I have the same soft pinks and beiges in like 4 different brands (D'OH!)

I picked up the OPI Ger-Mini's set on Copious. If you are unfamiliar, Copious is a marketplace much like Etsy, except a little more user friendly. They kick out free credits all of the time and if you sign up under my referral link you get $10 to spend right away! Here is my link to get some free stuff!

The Ger-Mini's have 4 polishes, Don't Pretzel My Buttons, Nein! Nein! Nein! OK, Fine!, Unfor-Gret-A Blue, and Suzi & The 7 Dusseldorfs. I first tried OPI Don't Pretzel My Buttons. I am in love with this nude. It is creamy, rich and gives me good mannequin hands. I seriously feel like I should be in a catalog. I love this polish and never want to take it off. But alas, there are more polishes to try. I have 2 coats on and a coat of Seche Vite on top.
What a beauty.

More Germany to come, but I HAD to get this one up. I highly suggest it if you are into this sort of thing. See you next time, my lovely polished ladies!

One Of THOSE Polishes

Hey everyone! So...I admit it, I have nail polishes that I have never worn before (and I know I'm not the only one). So I decided to give one of those lonely polishes some love and attention.

OPI I Don't Give A Rotterdam. I really thought I would enjoy this nail polish but I'm having a hard time. It needs to be either gray or blue because this blue-gray, gray-blue isn't working for me. I can't put a finger on why I don't like this, but I'll say it. I don't like it. Thoughts?

The formula was typical OPI, 2 coats to cover, went on nicely. I put some Seche Vite on top and stood back to take a look and I went...meh. I MEH'd! It's an ok color, don't get me wrong, but I think I was expecting more.
Even as I look at this, I am making this face o.O

We can't win them all, I guess. See you next time my lovely, polished ladies!

Julep Takes A Stab At Metallics

Hey hey. I got my Julep box almost 2 weeks ago..and am just now blogging about it. But I am all moved into the new place and this is my first (kind of long) blog from my new couch in my new house! Woo!

If you aren't familiar with Julep, it's a subscription service that gives you nail polish! I got my first box for just 1 cent! If you want to keep receiving boxes, they are $19.99 and well worth the price. Here is a link where you can grab your intro box for 1 cent, just remember the code TWITTER1 HTTP://JULEP.COM/?R=21827352

This months Julep box contained the polishes Alfre and Felicity, I don't have many metallic polishes so I was excited about these! I also received their Acetone-Free conditioning nail polish remover (with pump!), which smells pretty good and work marvelously. Then I got an extra, a reusable tote bag (which was handy carrying my farmers market spoils Saturday)!

Felicity is a yellow-gold metallic chrome color. The formula on this was a bit goopy so I dropped some Seche Restore in, and viola! Like most metallic polishes, you can definitely see the polish strokes, which is a bummer. This is still a fun polish, I would probably use it more for art or accents. This is 2 coats with Seche Vite on top

Julep Felicity

Alfre is a silver/lavender metallic that was very difficult to work with. The brush strokes were hard to get rid of and the formula was a bit off. It bubbled on me, which is very unusual but I could chalk it up to something I did in the painting process. This is 2 coats with Seche Vite on top.

Julep Alfre

The goodies in my Julep Maven box!

Whew! Overall I am pretty pleased with the metallics in my box. I LOVE THE REMOVER!!! I will be buying the remover again, also it has a pump top, I love those. I have some fun polishes coming up so stay tuned! See you next time my lovely, polished ladies!

The Nails...They Are Sad.

Well hello, hello! So...I moved! And had some casualties along the way. Like most of my nails. So...while they grow out again.... Here are some never-before-seen pictures of a mediocre nail polish! I know, contain your excitement.

It's pink and it's shimmery, what isn't to like? But it isn't a show stopper. I received this in the Zoya Pinterest Trio way back when. The other 2 colors were just so much more interesting. This is Zoya Kimber, Zoya is always a pleasure to work with. This is 2 coats, had 0 problems with the formula. This is pretty and shimmery, a very girly polish! I capped it off with a coat of Seche Vite.

Welp. It shimmers.
So there she is. I also want to start a conversation about switching from Seche Vite to something that doesn't shrink my polish (as you can see in the pictures). Poshe? A gel topcoat? Shoot me some ideas. See you next time my lovely, polished ladies!

Oh Butter London, You Minx!

Hello there! I am just getting ready to move (I feel like I have been moving for like 80 years now, but it's finally happening tomorrow), and I am very excited! Woop!

I have another Copious  goody today, I am getting lucky left and right! If you don't know, Copious is like Pinterest + Etsy + Free credits all of the time. They keep hooking members up with $10 credits, so I have been getting free polish lately. It's awesome. If you use this link, you get $10 in a welcome bonus and I will get $5. I do not think they ship anywhere other than the U.S. right now though :(

This time, I got Butter London Wallis! I kept hearing about it and going back and forth on buying it...well I finally took the plunge and I was not disappointed. This is a gorgeous metallic, almost duo-chromey gold/olive. It looks like you put a duo-chrome glitter over black. I was moving my fingers around all day just looking at the different shades and sparkles the light turns the polish into. LOVE IT!
She's-a so sparkly!

This image really shows off the olive tint to the polish, loves it.

That is all for today folks, check back because soon I will have my new Julep polishes up, they are really rocking the new metallic trend! See you next time my lovely, polished ladies!
